Fostering Community Partnerships and Engagement in Research
Presenter Bio
Ellie Richards is a psychologist in the child and adolescent outpatient department at Cambridge Health Alliance. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Boston University, her M.S. in Counseling from Loyola University Maryland, and her B.A. from the University of Virginia. Dr. Richards specializes in providing care to high-risk adolescents and serves as the team lead for school-based mental health. She provides consultation to schools and is a member of the Cambridge Police Department’s Safety Net Collaborative, a partnership between families, police, schools, youth programs, and others to prevent and reduce juvenile delinquent behaviors. Finally, her research demonstrates her deep interest in the intersection of developmental science, mental health, and education. Currently, Dr. Richards co-leads R34#1 on ALACRITY which focuses on stress and coping among high school students. Dr. Richards is an active member of the American Psychological Association and the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
